‘Powerstar’ Puneeth Rajkumar was very active on social media, especially Twitter. He used the microblogging platform to connect with his audience and share his upcoming movies and events with his fans.

However, after Puneeth’s death, no Tweets were posted on his official account (@PuneethRajkumar). After 9 months of inactivity, Twitter had removed the blue tick mark from his profile. The absence of the blue tick indicating that it is an officially verified Twitter account naturally upset Appu’s fans.

For his many fans,  Puneeth Rajkumar’s Twitter account was a window to relive the best moments of the superstar’s life. The removal of this symbol of authenticity soon invited their displeasure and a Campaign was started with #ReverifyPuneethRajkumarTwitter on July 15.

Appealing to Twitter for restoring the blue tick, one user wrote: “He (Puneeth) is Alive even today in our Heart Forever.” Another user wrote: “He forever lives in the heart of every Kannadiga and every Indian.” Many others also echoed similar sentiments.

Soon, the campaign got backing from luminaries of the Kannada cinema world.

Twitter has finally responded to the requests from Puneeth Rajkumar’s fans. The blue tick on the Powerstar’s official account (@PuneethRajkumar) is back, delighting his fans.
