A groom from Kerala is attracting attention for his unconventional wedding dress. Amal Raveendran dressed himself as Minnal Murali, a desi superhero from a Malayalam film of the same name, for his wedding.
The groom wore a Minnal Murali-inspired attire and the bride wore a green saree in photos that have gone popular online. The red and blue costume worn by Mr Raveendran was inspired by Tovino Thomas’ role in the film.

The 29-year-old confessed to Indian Express that his folks were supportive of his decision to dress up as a superhero.
He said, “Our relatives were excited to see me in the costume after the shoot. My cousins had planned to wear superhero costumes on the wedding day. However, due to Covid and related restrictions, they could not attend the wedding. Many people were curious about the wedding after watching ‘save the date’ video,”
Mr Raveendran was alluding to his save-the-date video, which went viral earlier this year. He had also dressed up as Minnal Murali for the video.

Meanwhile, the bride, Anju KH, stated that while she was hesitant about the ‘save the date’ video at first, the great response it garnered dispelled her concerns.
“I was a bit reluctant during the save the date video shoot. However, it turned out well and we got positive response from friends and family. I was very enthusiastic during the post-wedding shoot. Some of my friends even call me ‘Minnal’,” Anju told Indian Express.
Messages of congratulations poured in for the Kerala couple, with some even urging Tovino Thomas to attend the wedding photographs.
