Bengaluru: Forest officials, wild life activists have urged the public not to enter wildlife sanctuaries without proper permission from the concerned authorities. The advisories came after a Bengaluru based entrepreneur lost his one of his hands in a crocodile attack at Thattekere pond located outskirts of Bengaluru city when he went to spend his weekend on Sunday.

The officials of wildlife sanctuaries stated that the number of people who illegally visit wild sanctuaries in the state has been increasing sharply along with their illegal activity including drinking, taking bath, cooking and others in recent years.

The forest department has already noticed people entering into wildlife sanctuaries including Nagarahole, Bandipur, Cauvery, protected zones in Chikkamagaluru, Kodagu and others to spend their leisure. Ignorance of such visitors finally results in a disaster. Also, each penetration of outsiders into a wildlife sanctuary disturbs the ecological balance of the region indirectly.

Speaking on such incidents, Kanakapura local forest officer Chandranayak said, the state government should implement strict rules and regulations against the intruders or those who violate rules and regulations of implemented to conserve the forests. The number of wildlife attack victims is on rise in Chikkamagaluru, Kodagu, Kuduremukha and other protected forest zones, the officer added.

Many of the forest officials have urged the state government to take strict actions against the intruders who enter protected forest zones without getting necessary permission from the concerned authorities.
