Forest fire spotted in Maloor reserve forest

Mudigere: A forest fire has been raging in Maloor reserve forest located on Charmadi Ghat since last Five days. The fire, which is fast spreading can cause huge devastation if not checked in time.
Already 50 acres of area near Mudigere has been destroyed as of now. The fire has also destroyed the wildlife like forest sheep and hares, birds nested inside bushes and shrubs, insects like butterflies.
The fire is now expanding to nearby areas destroying the pasture located inside the forest.
The estate owners would have set fire for encroachment, informed sources.
