Former India cricketer Suresh Raina turns restaurateur with Amsterdam venture

Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina has ventured into the culinary world with the opening of his Indian restaurant, Raina Indian Restaurant, in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Making the announcement on June 23, Raina expressed his excitement to introduce authentic Indian flavors to Europe through his passion for food and cooking.

Raina’s Instagram post showcased the restaurant’s ambience and offered a glimpse into his time spent in the kitchen. The cricketer’s aim is to pay homage to the diverse culinary tapestry of India, capturing the rich spices of North India and the aromatic curries of South India.

“Over the years, you’ve seen my love for food and witnessed my culinary adventures, and now, I am on a mission to bring the most authentic and genuine flavors from different parts of India straight to Europe’s heart.

“Prepare your taste buds for a remarkable journey where each dish tells a story and every bite is a celebration of Indian heritage. 🎉 From the rich spices of North India to the aromatic curries of South India, Raina Indian Restaurant is a tribute to the diverse and vibrant culinary tapestry of my beloved country,” he wrote in the Instagram post.

Amsterdam holds a special place in Suresh Raina’s heart, as he frequently visits the city. His wife Priyanka was previously employed in a local bank, and they have celebrated important occasions there, including her recent birthday.
