Former Karnataka Chief Minister N Dharam Singh Passes Away

Bengaluru: Former Karnataka Chief Minister, senior Congress leader N Dharam Singh (81) passed away on Thursday morning at a private hospital in Bengaluru following multi organ failure.
Former chief minister was reportedly suffering from serious health issues for the last two months and was being treated at hospital and his residence. His body will be kept at his residence in the state capital on July 27 for the people to pay their last respect to the deceased. The funeral ceremony is scheduled to be held on July 28 at his native village, Nelogi of Jevargi in Kalburgi district.
The body of the deceased is expected to leave for Kalburgi on Thursday evening from Bengaluru and the last rites will be held according to the rituals of Rajput community with all state honours at his native village on Friday.
The state government has declared three day mourning starting from Thursday in Karnataka as a mark of respect to the former chief minister. A half day holiday has been announced for educational institutions and government offices in Karnataka on July 27 while a government holiday declared in Bidar and Kalburgi districts on July 28 also.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Senior Congress leaders Mallikarjuna Kharge, Karnataka State Revenue Minister Kagodu Thimmappa, Karnataka state JDS President HD Kumaraswamy and others expressed their grief on the death of former Karnataka chief minister.
