Foul play suspected; Shiroor seer’s brother lodges police complaint

Udupi: Lathavya Acharya, brother of Shiroor Math seer, has lodged a complaint with Hiriyadka police station alleging foul play in the death of his brother, the Seer on Thursday, July 19th.

In his complaint, Lathavya alleges that the Shiroor Math seer Lakshmivara Theertha Swamiji has been murdered by poisioning. He also demanded a high-level probe into the Seer’s death.

Hiriyadka police have registered the case and is conducting further investigation.

On July 19th, Lakshmivara Theertha Swamiji died after a brief illness and his death is suspected due to poisoning, according to the Math sources.
