Udupi: A foul smell emanating from the residence of a home-alone man led to the discovery of his dead body on Tuesday, September 25.
The deceased identified as Fredrick, 70, used to reside in Kallianpur here while his relatives – brother and sister reside in Bengaluru.
Unable to bear the stench emanating from the house, Fredrick’s neighbours decided to check on him only to notice his dead body inside and notified the police.
It is not yet known when Fredrick may have passed away and a clear picture in this regard will emerge after a post-mortem report. Meanwhile, Fredrick’s call records, as accessed by the police reveal that the last call made from his mobile was on September 14.
The body has been sent to Manipal for post-mortem and a case has been registered with the Malpe police.
