Four arrested for temple burglary

Madikeri: The police arrested four people for robbing Shri Anjaneya Temple in the city on July 21. 

The arrested have been identified as Suresh from Suntikoppa, Subhash from Kerala’s Kanhangad, Suresh Narayan from Hunsur and Kumar from Dodda Magge in Hassan. 

Police said that the accused had broken the bolt and plundered the cash in donation box. Later they stole a bike parked before Vandam Enterprises nearby and carried off the plunder. The police, investigating the complaint filed by the chief officer of the temple S Sampath, traced the culprits based on the CCTV footage recorded at Vandam Enterprises. 

Police additionally recovered the stolen money adding up to Rs 32,000 and the stolen bike. The accused have been already booked in criminal cases and imprisoned for several years, said police authorities.
