Chitradurga: Four persons died on the spot after a gas tanker reportedly ran over them at Doddasiddavvanahalli village on the Pune-Bengaluru National Highway (NH-48) on Saturday early morning.
The deceased identified as Hulugappa from Raichur, driver Sharanappa from Ron, cleaner Sanjay from Vijayapura and Manjunath of Kustagi were changing a punctured tyre of the truck on the side of the road.
The mishap occurred as the driver of the tanker lost control over the vehicle. The tanker ran over the four persons and rammed into the truck carrying onions from Gadag to Bengaluru.
