Four teenagers meet watery grave at Savagoan lake

Belagavi: In a tragic incident four teenagers, students of Class X met with a watery grave after they ventured for a swim into a lake at Savagoan village of Belagavi taluk on Wednesday, November 21.
The deceased have been identified as Sahil Yuvraj Benke (15) of Benkanhalli, Chaitanya Bhandurge (16) of Bhagya Nagar, Aman Singh (14) of Ganeshpur and Gautam Kalghatgi (15) of Shahapur.
Since it was a school holiday on Wednesday, the four friends decided to go for a swim at a Savagoan lake where they drowned to death. The incident was known when locals intimated the police upon noticing two-wheelers and clothes lying on the bank of the river with no sign of its owners.
Police along with fire and emergency personnel rushed to the spot and carried on rescue operation. The bodies were traced after few hours of search, informed sources.
A case of unnatural death has been registered with the Belagavi rural police.
