Freedom fighter K E Krishnegowda dies at 98

Bengaluru: Freedom fighter K E Krishnagowda of Koodalli breathed his last at a private hospital in Bengaluru on Thursday, November 15. He was 98.
Krishnegowda had actively participated in India’s fight for freedom, including the Quit India movement. Despite his old age he was seen taking part in the national festivals and used to motivate youths to imbibe patriotic values.
Krishnegowda was also known for his contribution in the field of agriculture, cottage industry and rural development.
He is survived by wife Gangamma, sons Suresh and Yatish and daughter Chaya.
MLA M P Kumaraswamy, former MLA B B Ningaiah, former MLC Motamma and Karnataka Growers’ Federation president Jayaram Gowda have condoled the demise of Krishnegowda.
The final rites of Krishnegowda would be performed in Koodalli on Friday (today) afternoon, informed family sources.
