Mangaluru: Environmentalists planted sapling at the foothills of Kudremukh here on Sunday.
62 nature lovers participated in the project ‘Hasiru Hodike,’ which was organised by National Environment Care Federation (NECF).
The saplings which were fruit bearing were planted in land belonging to the forest department.
Sahyadri Sanchaya convener Dinesh Holla feels planting fruit bearing trees in the border areas would not only help in increasing the green cover but could stop wild animals from entering the villages.
