Gadag: 2 killed, more than 15 injured in bus-lorry collision

Gadag: Two persons were killed and more than 15 others were seriously injured following a head-on collision between a bus and a lorry on Wednesday. The incident took place between Hallikeri-Bannikoppa on Koppala road in Mundargi taluk of the district.

The state road transport company bus was on its way from Koppal to Gadag. The lorry from Tamil Nadu moving towards Koppal.

According to police, lorry driver Vinod Kumar was one of the deceased.

The other deceased has been identified as Geeta, a resident of Bhagyanagar in Koppal district. It is gathered that she had gone to Yallammanagudda in Savadatti taluk.

Police said that more than 15 persons were injured in the accident, and among them 3 are said to be critical. The injured have been admitted to GIMS Hospital. Police including DySP Prabhu Gowda visited the spot and are investigating.
