Gadag: 2-yo girl dies after being run over by water tanker

In a tragic accident, a two-year-old girl lost her life after being run over by a water tanker near the Rachoteshwar Temple in the Vakkalgeri area here. The child reportedly fell from a scooter and was struck by the tanker.

The child’s relative was riding the scooter. The mishap occured when the scooter driver veered to the side of the road and stopped to avoid collision with a tractor coming from the opposite direction. The child however fell off the scooter onto the road.

At that moment, a water tanker, coming from behind, ran over the child’s head. She was killed on the spot. The horrifying incident was captured on CCTV cameras.

Witnesses reported that the child’s relative, who was riding the scooter, immediately picked up the child and began screaming for help. Nearby locals quickly alerted the police, and the authorities arrived at the scene. Traffic police conducted a detailed investigation and have registered a case based on the incident.
