Gadag: 5-yo succumbs to dengue

Amid the rising number of dengue cases in the state, a five-year-old boy from Gadag succumbed to dengue at SDM hospital in Dharwad on Sunday.
The boy, Chirag Hosamani had been suffering from severe fever for the past few days and was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Gadag. Later he was admitted to the GIMS hospital here for a few hours. The boy’s parents then took him to SDM Hospital in Dharwad for further treatment where he passed away on Sunday.
Dr. Basavaraj Bommanahalli, Director of GIMS said that currently twelve cases of dengue, including three children are admitted for treatment at the hospital. He assured that there are no serious complications among the admitted children.
