Gadag: Big disaster averted after fire at Bharat Gas agency

Gadag: An electrical short circuit caused a fire at the Bharat Gas agency on Bank Road here on Sunday. No casualties were reported.

At around 9:15 pm, a fire was seen on an electric pole near the Bharat Gas agency. Locals who noticed this informed HESCOM whose staff immediately arrived at the spot and tried to fix it.

At this moment, an electric short circuit caused a fire in the gas agency office leading to an explosion of one of the gas cylinders.

Many nearby residents ran out of their houses after the explosion.

Firefighters rushed to the spot and managed to extinguish the fire preventing a bigger tragedy from occurring.
