Gadag: The body of Dinesh, a young man who went missing after falling into the Tungabhadra River near Huvina Hadagali in Vijayanagar district, was found on the riverbank on Tuesday, October 22.

Reports indicate that Dinesh, from Muradi Tanda in Mundaragi taluk, Gadag district, attempted suicide by jumping into the Tungabhadra River from the Hammigi Barrage.

Dinesh had been trapped in a debt cycle, which led him to take the drastic step on October 20 (Sunday). Due to the strong currents, he was swept away in the river. A search operation had been ongoing for two days to recover his body, and it was found this morning.

Mundaragi Tehsildar Yariswami visited the site and confirmed that the body would be sent for post-mortem examination.
