Galwan Valley clash: China frees 10 Indian soldiers, including after talks

New Delhi: Chinese army has released 10 Indian soldiers, who had been taken into captivity after the violent confrontation at Galwan valley on June 15.
The release of the men, including four officers came about after days of negotiations in the Galwan Valley headed by a Major General of the Army.
It is now gathered that around 45 Indian troops were detained by the Chinese during the confrontation. While they released 35 soldiers, 10 had been held captive.
The issue was kept a secret given the sensitivity of the matter.
The Army had earlier released a statement saying that all its soldiers are accounted for.
“It is clarified that there are no Indian troops missing in action,” the Army said in a brief statement on Thursday.
