Games, animation, visual effects meet in Bengaluru next month

Bengaluru: Karnataka Government said it will organise a three-day games, animation and visual effects conference in the city next month, as a move tooffer global platform to students, artists and professionals. 

The ‘Bengaluru GAFX Conference 2017’, to be held from May 12 to14, will have workshops, master classes, talks, presentations, screenings of some of the popular and best content from all across the world, live marathon,artistic competitions and technical hackathons, a release said.

It will also hold virtual reality demo and experience zones, job and career fair and education symposium. 

As part of the event, internationally acclaimed animation films including Academy award nominated ones will be screened. Many of them will be premiered in Indian languages during the event, the release said. 

Global experts in the areas of story, production design, cinematography, character animation and physics and mathematics will speak. 

Leaders, popular studios and production houses such as Pixar Animation Studios, Walt Disney Animation Studios, DreamWorks Animation, Double Negative, The Third Floor, MPC, Ubisoft are expected to take part and talk about projects across all formats including virtual reality and 360 films. 

“I urge every studio leader to consider opening up a studio in the city and I assure you that you will have the best all-round support to run your productions out of the science and technology capital of India,” Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said after unveiling the logo and website of the conference.
