Puttur: A complaint was filed against a youth who allegedly kept a lucky draw on the occasion of the Ganesha Festival with the first prize winner getting a full bottle of Black and White liquor bottle.

Taking offense to the contest which offered liquor as a prize to the winners, Hindu activists registered a case with the police.

Reportedly the youth, a resident of Sullia sold several lucky draw coupons priced at Rs 100 to make quick money. The draw offered a full bottle of Black & White liquor and one carton of beer to the first and second place winners respectively.

Following the complaint, police traced the youth and took him to task for hurting religious sentiments. The youth was asked to tender an apology and police took an undertaking from him that he would not repeat the act.
