Gang arrested for robbing lone tourists at Whitefield

Bengaluru: Four youth were arrested who were accused of robbing pedestrains, motorists and lone travellers travelling near Mahadevoura, Whitefield area.
The accused arrested are, Mohammad Rasool (19), Siraj Shaikh (20), both of Muthsandra village and natives of West Bengal; Afsar Shaikh (20), of Chinnappanahalli engaged in welding work, and Pradeep (22), of Kundalahalli and a school van driver.
It has been reported that, the accused used to target pedestrians and motorists travelling alone, waylay them and rob their valuables while threatening them with matchetes.
The police have recovered eight mobile phones, three motorcycles that they use to rob and matchets and rods. The suspects were produced before the magistrate who remanded them to judicial custody.
