Gang attacks teenage student during Namaz

Mangaluru: A gang attacked a student at Maratimoole mosque compound on Friday, June 8th. The victim who suffered injuries has been identified as Shaklain (16), a student of a residential school at Natekal.
On Friday evening, Shaklain and his classmate Araf had a fight over a silly matter when the teachers intervened and pacified them. The teachers then asked Shaklain and Araf to go to Maratimoole mosque for evening Namaz.
According to the available information, Araf in a bid to teach Shaklain a lesson phoned his friends in Manjeshwar.
Consequently, three people from Manjeshwar attacked Shaklain with hockey sticks when he was performing Namaz in the compound of Maratimoole mosque. Shaklain’s screams for help brought many people to his rescue but the attackers had made good their escape before the people reached. The attackers left behind the car they had brought which has Kerala registration.
Injured Shaklain is receiving treatment at a hospital in Natekal and the police have have taken up investigation on this incident.
