Gangavathi: School excursion bus overturns; Four students sustain injuries

In a tragic incident near Pragati Nagar in Gangavathi taluk early on Thursday morning, November 28, a KSRTC bus carrying school students on an excursion overturned, leaving four students with minor injuries.
The bus, which started from Gurumithkal town in Yadgir district on the night of November 27, was en route to Kishkindha, Anjanadri, and Hampi in Gangavathi taluk as part of a school excursion.
The accident occurred when the driver lost control of the vehicle near Pragati Nagar. The bus veered off the road and overturned into a ditch. Fortunately, despite the severity of the accident, no fatalities were reported.
The bus was carrying 60 students and seven teachers. Local residents promptly arrived at the scene, rescuing the passengers and taking them to the Gangavathi Government Hospital for treatment.
Officials from the KSRTC and local police reached the accident site to manage the situation. A replacement bus was arranged to ensure the students could continue their journey.
The Gangavathi Rural Police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
