A shocking incident has come to light from the historic Shri Mahakali Temple in Gangolli, where it has been discovered that the gold ornaments adorning the deity have been stolen. It is reported that genuine gold ornaments were replaced with fake ones.

The incident came to light on Saturday when the temple committee, in preparation for Navratri, requested the temple priests to clean and polish the deity and the ornaments. Upon inspection, they realized that the real gold had been substituted with counterfeit jewelry, raising concerns of theft.

Further investigations are underway to determine the details of the theft and to recover the stolen ornaments.
