Gangrape case of 17-yo: Bengaluru police arrest one

Bengaluru police on Saturday arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with the gang rape case of a minor girl.
The arrested identified as Devaraj, 24, is employed at a plywood store. He has been booked under the POCSO Act.
The victim’s parents had filed a police complaint after the minor confided in them and revealed that the accused had engaged in physical intimacy with her and made a video of their act. He had threatened to upload the video to social media if she married someone else.
As per the complaint filed at Byatarayanapura police station, four people had been accused of raping the girl.
Initial police investigations have found that only Devraj was involved in the act. According to a DHNS report, the victim and the accused were in a relationship for the last four years. Recently when the girl expressed her desire to end their relationship. In September, when the duo got intimate Devraj filmed the act and began threatening her with it.
The girl got scared and narrated her ordeal to her parents who then filed a complaint on Friday.
According to the report, the police are probing the involvement of the other three persons mentioned in the complaint and will take action if any evidence is found.
