Katapadi: A gas tanker crashed into the rear of a parked lorry at Katapadi junction along the National Highway 66 late on Tuesday night April 30th.
The driver of the tanker who sustained grievous injuries was rushed to the hospital where he lost his battle for life. The deceased driver is identified as Selva Kumar (41) from Tamil Nadu.
In the collision that occurred around midnight, the front side of the tanker was completely smashed. The police and the locals had a tough time attempting to pry out the critically injured driver from the messed up vehicle.
The accident disrupted vehicular movement for some time. The police and locals worked together and normalized vehicular movement. The incident occurred within Kaup police station limits.
