Bengaluru: Special Investigation Team (SIT) has reportedly decided to obtain support from central investigation agencies on ongoing investigation into Guari Lankesh murder case. The decision came after SIT failed to gather any information on the culprits behind the murder occurred on evening hours of September 4.

As of now, SIT has visuals of CCTV cameras installed at the residence of the deceased and surrounding areas. However, the videos gathered aren’t clear and in some visuals the culprits appeared wearing helmet which helped them to hide their identity.

According to the sources, Karnataka state government is planning to seek support from central investigation agencies including Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to gather any clues inconnection with the case. Meanwhile, state home department has clarified that SIT itself hold investigation into the case in various angles to nab the criminals immediately.

The persons who were closely associated with Gauri Lankesh are reportedly reluctant to provide their full support to SIT. Also, SIT hasn’t yet made any statement before the public on the progress on the investigation being carried out by it.
