Geethartha Chinthane 107: Death – Like removal of mask in theater

Krishna explains that making isolated statements without linking them meaningfully is termed as prajnavada (misguided wisdom). Arjuna exhibited such traits of ignorance. Even when a murder occurs before our eyes, we refer to the culprit as an “accused murderer.” Confirming the act as a crime is the role of a judge. Similarly, in worldly terms, we must not question a court’s judgment, as it may amount to contempt of court.

The same principle applies to God’s divine kingdom. The ultimate decision rests with Him. Pandits (scholars) simply fulfill their duties without engaging in justifications or excuses. The responsibility for judgment lies solely with God. Missing an opportunity to perform one’s duty is impermissible.

Krishna warns Arjuna, “While I and the Pandavas are present, you must not hastily decide ‘this is wrong’ or ‘that is wrong.’” Ultimately, death is merely a transformation of the physical body. In a theater, what is there to mourn when decorations are removed after the performance? Similarly, the date of death is preordained at birth (Gatasoon).

Why then should Pandits lament? Everyone, when their time comes, must remove their mask and exit the stage.
