Ghastly accident at Kunigal: 3 killed, 6 injured as car jumps divider & hits oncoming traffic

Kunigal: Three people lost their lives, and 6 others were injured in a ghastly accident that occurred on the National Highway-75 on the outskirts of the city on Tuesday morning.

A speeding car jumped the divider and smashed into an oncoming Tempo Traveller near B M Begur.

Due to the impact occupants of the car — identified as Raghu (38), Vijay (36), and Santhosh, lost their lives on the spot, sources said.

The driver of the car, Lokesh, was seriously injured and is being treated at a private hospital in Bangalore.

Four occupants of the Tempo Traveller also sustained injuries in the mishap and were rushed to a hospital.

As per sources, four friends were on their way to Hassan in the car when the man behind the wheel lost control and crashed into the road divider. The Tempo Traveller involved in the accident was on its way to Bengaluru from Dharmasthala.
