Ghastly accident in Bantwal; KSRTC bus mows down two teenagers

Bantwal: Two teenagers were crushed to death by a speeding KSRTC bus, in a ghastly accident that took place near Jakribettu. The deceased have been identified as Charan (18) a resident of Kudupu in Mangaluru and Mohammed Naushad (18), a resident of Dandegoli near Vamadapadavu.
Accident synopsis
The deceased teenagers were riding a bike from B C Road towards the historic Karanji temple when the speeding KSRTC bus came from the wrong side at Jakribettu and collided head on with the victim’s bike. The force of the impact was such that, both the riders got crushed and stuck beneath the KSRTC bus.
With much effort, the localities were able to pull out the grievously injured riders stuck beneath the bus and immediately transferred them to a private hospital in Mangaluru via a 108 Ambulance. However, the critically injured duo failed to respond to the given treatment and lost their battle for life.
Bantwal traffic police have registered a case in this regard.
