Girgit movie: Bar association offended over the depiction of lawyers; case registered

Surathkal: Depiction of lawyers and the judiciary in the recently released tulu movie ‘Girgit’ seems to have ruffled some feathers with the district bar association expressing anger over the depiction. Besides they have also filed a case in the court against the movie.

The Mangalore Bar Association claims that the movie has badly represented lawyers and the judiciary, and has thereby harmed the honour the dignity of the judiciary as well as the advocates. Presently, a case has been booked against the movie, informed Raghavendra H V, secretary of the association.

It may be noted that renowned comedy actor Arvind Bolar is depicting a lawyer’s role in the movie. The movie has been directed by Rupesh Shetty who has also acted in the movie.
