Girl, 4, dies after iron gate falls on her

Bengaluru: A four-year-old girl succumbed to the head injuries she sustained after an iron gate of a neighbouring compound fell on her while she was playing with her elder sibling in Thyagarajnagar in Basavanagudi on April 9.

The victim, Kruthi Arasu M was rushed to a nearby nursing home where was declared brought dead by doctors.

The incident took place on Tuesday, April 9 evening when Kruthi and her sister Dhruti were playing near their paternal grandparents’ house.

Her parents who reside at Kathriguppe had left the children at Manjunath’s mother Subbulakshmi’s house for summer holidays.

Manjunath later filed a complaint with the Basavanagudi police stating his daughter was killed due to negligence on the part of the neighbour, Muralidhar.

Basavanagudi police registered a case against Manjunath under IPC Section 304-A (causing death due to criminal negligence).
