Kinnigoli: In a remarkable act of bravery, a 7th-grade student named Vaibhavi rescued her mother, who was trapped under a rickshaw following an accident. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah commended the girl’s presence of mind and quick action.

The incident occurred in Ramanagar in Kinnigoli, when Vaibhavi’s mother was crossing the road to pick her up from tuition. A rickshaw hit the mother, and she got trapped underneath. Without hesitating, Vaibhavi immediately rushed to lift the rickshaw and pulled her mother to safety, with help from others. The entire incident was captured on a local CCTV camera.

Currently, Vaibhavi’s mother is receiving treatment at a hospital in Surathkal. She has suffered a spinal injury and is also facing financial difficulties in continuing her treatment.

Praises for the Girl’s Courage and Quick Action

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, in a tweet, praised Vaibhavi’s courage. He highlighted how the young girl acted swiftly without waiting for help and managed to save her mother’s life by lifting the rickshaw on her own.

“I have often seen in the media that during accidents, bystanders focus on recording videos on their phones rather than helping the victims. This trend had made me worried about the future. However, this young girl’s brave act sends a strong message to society. Every second is valuable in emergency situations like accidents, fires, or heart attacks. We should not forget humanity during such moments,” the Chief Minister stated in his tweet.
