Panaji: Goa’s tourism department has finally given permission for holding the world-famous ‘Sunburn Festival’. The music festival will be held this year from December 28 to 30 at Vagator in Goa.
The festival could not be held for the last two years due to Covid restrictions. This year, a large number of tourists from across the country and abroad are expected to participate in this musical extravaganza.
However, the Goa tourism department has imposed certain conditions on the festival organizers while issuing a license. If these rules are violated, the organizers will have to pay a hefty fine.
The tourism department has asked the organizers to pay a processing fee of Rs 17,700. They have also been asked to pay a security deposit of Rs 1.1 crore. The tourism department has said that the amount will be withheld if any of the rules are violated.
Sunburn festival, held every year in December, is immensely popular among tourists. Young crowds flock to Goa for grooving to Electronic Dance Music (EDM) and laser shows that are the highlight of the festival.
