Goddess Sharada idol to lead Mangaluru Dasara procession this year

Mangaluru: The Navaratri Utsav and Dasara celebration at Kudroli Gokarnanatheswara Temple will be held from September 29 to October 9, said former union minister B Janardhana Poojary.
The temple Development committee Chairman B Janardhan Poojary addressing the press meet said,” The installation of Navadurga will be held on September 29 and procession will be carried on October 8.” He also informed that unlike previous years, the decorated tableau of Goddess Sharada and Lord Ganesh will be in front of the procession and other attractions will follow.
Poojary did not reveal the name of the inaugurator of Mangaluru Dasara, even after repeated queries from the journalists. “I have been trying to contact some great personality and he is yet to confirm his availability on that day. Nonetheless, you will come to know about it during the inauguration on September 29,’’ Poojary said
Treasurer Padmaraj R, temple committee president H S Sairam, vice president Raghavendra Kuloor, secretary Madhav Suvarna, Trustees B K Tharanath, Ravishankar Mijar, K Maheshchandra, temple development committee co-president Urmila Ramesh Kumar among others were present.
