Gokak: In a tragic accident, a one-year-old child was killed after it accidentally slipped and fell inside a sewer drain in Lolasur village.

The baby has been identified as Siddiq Saddam Tahsildar. It is said that the child fell into the drain while playing near the house.

The child was immediately rushed to the hospital but died on the way.  Locals have blamed the Gram Panchayat officials for not repairing the drain.

However, officials claim that no case in this regard has been registered in Ghataprabha police station.  It is said that the parents of the baby have claimed that the baby died of an illness.
