Gold medal for autistic swimmer at national level competition

Mangaluru/Pune: A gifted autistic teenager has made Mangaluru proud by winning two medals in the First National Level Swimming competition for Autistic and Downs Syndrome Children, hosted by the Rotary Club at Chinchwad, Pune on Sunday, August 26th.
Abhishek Prabhu (19), won gold in the 25 meters category and bronze in the 50 meters category of the swimming competition. He is the son of Narasimha Prabhu Manjeshwar and Laxmi. His younger brother, Anirudh is a fourth standard student.
The national even was participated by nearly 200 children from Maharashtra, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and other states.
Abhishek had regularly been winning lesser prizes in earlier competitions in which he had participated. Last year, he had brought home the silver at the state level skating competition. He is a student of Chetana Child Development Centre in the city.
