Gold smuggling bid foiled at MIA; passenger held

Mangaluru: Officers of Mangaluru International Airport registered a case against a passenger for attempted gold smuggling here.
The passenger identified as Vinesh Raju Advani, hailing from Ulhasnagar of Thane arrived from Dubai via Spicejet flight No. SG146 on March 19.
He was found to be smuggling gold in powder form mixed with solid gum concealed in rectum and gold in form of ring, kada, button and label totally weighing 284.900 grams.
The value of seized gold is valued at Rs.13,16,238/-
