Gold stolen from a shop at Mangaluru

Mangaluru: A jewellery shop was stolen by four women, who entered the shop as customers, and later managed to flee with six gold bangles worth Rs 5.71 here on Thursday.

The robbery was reported at Vijayalakshmi Jewellers, Bhavanthi street here.

As per the complaint, four women entered the shop at around 11.38 am and inquired about the prices of different ornaments and left the shop. After some time when one of the staff went out for tea the group entered the shop and managed to flee with six gold bangles.

The robbery came to light when the owner was getting ready to go home in the evening. On Thursday the owner checked the CCTV footage in which the women were found stealing the gold items.

Bunder police have taken up the case.
