Gold worth Rs 10.39 lac seized at MIA; two held

Mangaluru: Over 280 grams of gold, worth more than Rs 10 lakh, was seized in separate cases at Mangaluru InternationalAirport here and two persons were arrested in this connection.

A passenger, Mohammed Harris who arrived from Dubai on Friday was found carrying 243 grams of gold having 24-carat purity, worth Rs 9.34 lac. He had concealed it in his rectum.

In the second case, Kasargod resident Nizamuddin was arrested on Wednesday for possession of 40 grams gold worth over Rs 1 lakh. He was carrying the gold in the form of a golden bangle.
