Gold worth Rs 34.75 lac seized from passenger at MIA

Mangaluru: Customs officials on Wednesday, May 15 confiscated gold valuing worth Rs 34.75 lac from a passenger on his arrival at the at Mangaluru International Airport here.

The passenger who had arrived from Dubai by SpiceJet flight SG60 was trying to smuggle 24-carat gold weighing 1052.90 grams.

The gold was concealed in the motor of Nikai brand mixer in the form of two mercury coated ingots and was being carried in his check-in luggage.
