Golden goblet worth Rs. 7 lakhs stolen from Puttige Mutt

Udupi: An incident of gold worth Rs 7 lakhs being stolen has come to light at Puttige Mutt (one of the eight/Ashta Mutts in the vicinity of Sri Krishna Temple).

As per the reports, on July 26, six students of the Mutt and purohit Lakshmi Prasad were present during the morning puja.

While keeping the puja material back in place, they found a golden goblet weighing 146 gm, worth Rs. 7 lakhs had gone missing.

Meanwhile, Vishnumurthy, who is the manager of the Mutt suspected this to be stolen by Lakshmiprasad. Under this suspicion, he has filed a complaint with the Udupi City Police.
