Good response for voter’s helpline

Daily 60-65 calls
Udupi: The voter’s helpline 1905 which was opened at the DC office in accordance to the order from the Election Commission regarding the upcoming Lok Sabha election is receiving good response. The service was started from Feb 11th.
Initially there were 11-12 calls being received daily. But soon after the announcement of the election dates the call rates have reached 60-65 calls per day informs the staff here. Up till Mar 14th, a total of 532 calls have been received here.
The calls being received here are mostly asking assistance regarding the voter’s ID, voter’s registration, polling booth details, application inspection, information regarding officials and other queries.
Information to callers from other districts
The staffs here are providing assistance to callers from other districts as well. There are also queries regarding name, registration, application inspection and EVM’s.
24 hrs service
The voter’s helpline is functioning 24 hrs and there are 4 staffs. The staffs function here from morning 8 am to night 8 pm and from night 8 pm to morning 8 am.
