Goods carrier-bike collision: Two officers die on spot, carrier driver escapes

Gadag: In a goods carrier and bike collision at Parasapura Cross of Shirahatti taluk, tow officer died on spot, here on Wednesday.

The deceased officers are identified as Ashok Patil, Taluk Officer of Backward Classes Welfare Department, and V S Budihalli, Manager of Social Welfare Department.

As per the reports, both the officers on duty were travelling towards Magadi village. At this point in time, a goods carrier has collided with the bike in which both the officers were travelling. Due to the impact, both died on spot.

Meanwhile, the driver of the goods carrier is said to have immediately escaped. He is said to be absconding.

CPI Vikas Lamani has inspected the spot. A case has been filed in the Shirahatti Police Station.
