Google donates $100 million to Covid-19 relief fund

Google has taken active measures to help in tackling Covid-19 by its special features and grants. Now, Google has announced that it is donating a total of $100 million towards Covid-19 relief operations.
Google through its charitable wing, Google.org had already donated $50 million for the cause. Now, it is donating another $50 million in Covid-19 relief bringing its total contribution to $100 million.
The funds will support governments, multilateral organizations, and relief organizations working to respond to the coronavirus, with a focus on health and science initiatives, access to educational resources, and small business support.
Google.org has committed up to $10.5 million through public-matching campaigns to organizations including the World Health Organization (WHO) and has given more than $15 million in cash grants to non-profits benefiting underrepresented business-owners.
Google also announced a $500,000 grant to a team of researchers, epidemiologists, and software developers at Boston Children’s Hospital in support of HealthMap, a site that provides up-to-date information about emerging public health threats and outbreaks, including Covid-19.
