Google Duo is planning to launch new a feature that will allow users to reach out to others through email addresses and not just phone numbers.

Currently, Google Duo allows users to use their phones number to connect with people. Google is now working to add a toggle to the app which will let users reach contacts using their email address.

As per the reports, users can video call their friends and family with just email address on Google Duo Web. However, users who have not connected their mobile numbers, their names will not be visible in the contact list. Google Duo is extensively working on the same feature and eliminate the need of using phone number in Google Duo Android.

App reverse engineer Jane Manchun Wong tipped the launch of the new feature on Twitter through an image showing a new feature called “Reachable with email address” in the Accounts section of Google Duo.
