Government to ban hookah bars in Karnataka

Bengaluru: Karnataka government on Thursday announced it will ban hookah bars across the state

Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that hookah bars will be banned as they have become “a hub for sale and supply of drugs”

Bommai said, “We have information that some of the hookah bars have become drug supplying dens, we will act tough on them soon”

Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike issues hookah-bar licences and government has held a series of meetings with the BBMP commissioner on the proposed ban
