Government urged to declare Tulu as State’s official language

Mangaluru: The three-day 24th Dakshina Kannada District Sahitya Sammelana which concluded on Sunday urged the government to declare Tulu as State’s official language

The Sammelana was held at Sharada Vidyalaya in the city and Dakshina Kannada Sahitya Parishat S Pradeep Kumar Kalkura read out the resolutions passed in the Sammelana

The Samithi has also passed a resolution to urge the government to declare Yakshagana as the State’s art form and  construct a ranga mandir in Mangaluru

Additionally, the Samithi demanded a Kannada Bhavan for Mangaluru and Kannada Bhavans in each one of the taluks.

Dakshina Kannada District Sahitya Sammelana concluded on Sunday and was presided over by Yakshagana exponent Dr Prabhakar Joshi.
