Bengaluru: Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa informed that the state government is planning to establish 5000 Karnataka public schools over the next five years, with an initial goal of launching 500 such schools in the upcoming financial year.

In response to concerns raised by the High Court regarding recent infrastructure developments in government schools, Minister Bangarappa emphasized the government’s commitment to improving public education.

The Minister stressed their determination to enhance government schools to the point where there’s no incentive to opt for private education.

The upcoming budget is expected to allocate funds for the launch of 500 KPS in the next year, equipped with comprehensive amenities. To ensure access to these schools, students living four to five kilometers away will be provided with transportation.

Furthermore, there are plans to enhance the training of teachers through the Azim Premji Foundation and to develop school infrastructure through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds.

Minister Bangarappa expressed confidence in the project’s success, assuring that it will lead to improved educational facilities and opportunities.
